Hey everyone! I have two cards to share with you today. I used the Art Impressions We're Here stamp set again to make these. I wanted to play around with color. So I thought it would be fun to color these ladies hair some wild colors.
The first card I did I liked but I wasn't happy with a couple of things.
First- the yellow orange color on the rug and curtain is very distracting. Though I like contrasting colors, it wasn't quite what I had in mind.
Second- I colored the earrings the same color on each lady as their hair. It's not a terrible issue but I like the small details that Art Impressions puts into their stamp images and I think this draws away from that.
What do you think?
Card #2 turned out how I had pictured! Changing out the yellow orange color for a softer pink combination. I used RV81 and RV83, which are the same colors I use on almost any blush I had to cheeks on people or critters. I also like the colors of the hair, accessories and clothes a little more spread out like I did in card #2 versus card #1.
The background is created using Distress Oxide reinkers. I used coordinating colors that paired well with the vibrant main colors. I did this by dropping a few drops of the reinker on to a easy to clean surface then squishing a piece of watercolor paper over the top. I repeat the process until I have nice shape and coverage. The reinker goes a long ways! I did each color separately so that they wouldn't muddle together much. Then set aside to fully dry. I added a bit of texture with the Distress Sprayer and clean water since the Distress Oxide inks react with water.
Thank you so much for joining me today!
