TP Dragon Blog Hop | Easy Copic Colored scene

Hey everyone! Today I'm in a hop with some fellow creative crafters and we are using the TP Dudley image that is illustrated by Dustin Pike. This image is located on the Whimsy Stamps site and is available for FREE. Now that is awesome! Take a look at what other digi stamps they have to offer. Or download your own TP Dudley here.

I'll have a youtube video up soon using this image and comparing my two favorite white card stocks for alcohol markers. Subscribe to my channel!  <--- click

It's been a while since I've worked with digi stamps but this was really easy to download and print off. The printer I have is a Epson xp-640 and the ink works really well with Copic markers. I didn't have any smearing but I also like to let the printed image sit over night or for a few hours. That way the ink has really set. The paper I'm using is Accent Opaque White 80lb, listed below. I also die cut the image out using a Art Impressions Rectangle Double Stitch Die. This is the third from largest so I will have a wide white border.

I started with coloring the dragon. I'll have the list of Copic markers I used down below. Right off the bat I knew I color my dragon purple and orange. I've been playing the Spyro games recently which has a cute little purple and orange dragon!

The toilet paper was really easy to color. I just added W1 and W4 to the shadow areas. Moving on to the grass and starting from the back edge I used the darkest green blending out to the lightest. I also tried to blend a bit of the medium color but it turned out a bit streaky. That marker is obviously running dry and I will need to order a refill. I used the darkest green again and added some tuffs of grass to mask the streaky dry marker.

The top part of the background is colored with more gray tones. I did mix in a C5 (If you've been around a while you know I like to mix my warm and cool gray Copics. I started with the rock shape in the upper left side then sketched from there. I think it made for a pretty cool looking rock wall.

Recently I used an embossing folder which is another thing I haven't used in a while. So I thought I would try to find a embossing folder that might match a pattern you would find on toilet paper! lol. I'll admit I thought this was hilarious and a fun way to look at those embossing folders! The one I chose is an old Provo Craft Cuttlebug folder called Moroccan Screen. I trimmed that embossed piece down and layered it over a A2 card base. I die cut a piece of purple craft foam using the same die I die cut the TP Dudley image with. Then adhered those together and placed over the card front. The cute sentiment that comes with this image is printed off separately and colored in with W1 Copic marker. Then adhered at the top.

Here is the blog hop list so you can find even more creative inspiration using this fun image! I'm coloring up several of these and sending off to some family members. I know they will get and need a good laugh from this cute dragon.
