Cards for Kids Art Impressions NEW Cubbies

Hey everyone! The new challenge over on the Art Impressions blog is up and we are using the new cubbies sets. I personally adore this line of stamp and dies. The challenge theme is "Kid at Heart" You definitely don't have to be young to appreciate the whimsy of these cute sets.

For this card I created a pastel background using Distress Ink and layered a stripe stencil over the top. I then spritzed the stencil with clean water and laid a paper towel over it to soak up the access water. This resulted in a distressed stripe design that is a bit lighter where the water was able to react with the Distress Inks.

I created a video using the Castle Cubbie set earlier this month. You can watch below. Or check out the blog post here.

For the video one I utilized the super cool dragons and colored the castle in grays with a blue background. So for this challenge design I thought it would be fun to color it up differently. And why not make the castle pink!? I also colored the princess, knight and the unicorns. Loved how both have such different looks!

Everything is adhered on top of a Neenah 110lb Solar White top fold card base. I attached a light gray card stock first then centered a trimmed down white rectangle. Over the top of that I layered the distress ink stenciled background. Then added the castle and characters. The scallop border is then die cut and adhered last.

I stamped the sentiment with Versafine Clair Nocturne ink and also added glitter with a glitter brush pen over all of the gold/yellow parts, the unicorn horns and hair, plus the small pieces on the knight. After taking photos I went over all the glitter brush pen areas with Glossy Accents. I like doing this so that the glitter doesn't move. But I find Glossy Accents can be hard to photograph. Sometimes I take photos before adding it sometimes I don't though. It just depends.

Thank you all for stopping by today. I can't wait to see what you create for the Kid at Heart Challenge! Happy Stamping.
