Spring Card Using Background Masking Techniques

Today I have a cute little Spring time card, using the HM Garden set, over on the Art Impressions blog. These accessory sets to the Holiday Mansion are fun to decorate the house stamp with but I also love using them on their own. So that is what I will be doing today.

For the masking I used several circle dies and die cut from Inkadinkado masking paper. I used the smallest circle mask first placing that in the center of the cardstock. Then I ink blended over a stencil using a light tan ink.

After that I left the circle mask but removed the stencil. Then placed the negative piece of the larger circle over the top. Centering that negative piece with the first mask. So that all that is left to ink blend is a ring. This is where I used a dark warm brown ink to create that fun ring. You can see the stencil through the ink from my first ink blending. I love the look of that.

This creates a fun layered look but with out the bulk! Leaving room to pop up the center circle scene with craft foam. For more information check out the blog post linked above.

Thank you so much for joining me today!
Happy Stamping.
