New Twister Llama | Art Impressions Challenge #276

Hey everyone! It's the second week of the Art Impressions Challenge Movers and shakers. This time we have the new Twister series of stamps and dies to share and it's also my birthday! I'm loving this sassy interactive llama card. Check back on Friday where I will have a video using another one of the Twist Sets!

These Twister sets come with the front and back of each stamp image, plus the coordinating dies to cut them out. The dies do die cut the little forked notch at the top and bottom. This is what makes them flip or twist! There is an extra die set that you will need to die cut the middle frame. That set is called the Twister Frame die and comes with a couple of fun extra happy birthday sentiment and star dies.

Background Ink Blending
Stamps & Dies: Art Impressions Llama Twist Set, Tagged Stitch Dies
Distress Oxide Ink: Dusty Concord, Picked Raspberry, Spiced Marmalade
Ink: Gina K. Amalgam Jet Black, Versafine Clair Nocturne
Card Stock: Neenah 100lb Solar White
Stenciling: Simon Says Stamp Firework (discontinued) DecoFoil Metallix Gel White Pearl

First I used the Twist Frame set to die cut the frame on the front of the card base. Then I started ink blending. I used a clear cutting mat as my ink blending surface. Using three Distress Oxide ink colors I started at the top with the Spiced Marmalade. I decided to keep trying out the Scrapbook.com dome daubers. I'm still gathering my thoughts on those but they do work pretty well with the oxide inks.

Once I had a smooth blend I used firework stencil and some Deco Foil Metallix Gel. Unfortunately, the stencil is discontinued. I debated on using it because of that, but it went so perfectly I just had to! I love how the Distress Oxide inks tint the Metallix Gel a little! I wanted to add a bit more to the background so I splattered it with a bit of Copic Opaque white. You can use white Acrylic paint too.

The sentiment is so fantastic and works perfectly with the llama! I first die cut part of the long stitch tag leaving off the tag part so I just had the three stitch sides. Then stamped the sentiment in the center with Versafine Claire Nocturne ink.

I stamped both llama stamps on to Neenah 80lb card stock and used the above Copic markers to color with. The images are easily die cut with the coordinating dies. I just used some trusty liquid glue to adhere those two pieces together and then gently slide the prongs through the die cut window. Now the llama will twist and move with you open the card!

Thank you so much for joining me today! Don't forget to check out what the rest of the Art Impressions Design Team did with the other sets of Twisters! There are quite a few images released. Plus you still have time to enter into the challenge for the next week for the Movers and Shakers Challenge

Happy Stamping!
