Slider Card with NEW Enjoy the Ride | Art Impressions Challenge #270 Couple Cards

Hey everyone! It's challenge time on the Art Impressions blog. This time we are making couple cards, what a great way to get some inspiration for anniversaries! Head to the Art Impressions blog to see all the cards created by the design team and also enter your own creation into the inlinkz tool. You just might win a prize!

For my card I'm using the Enjoy the Ride stamp set and to mix it up I also made this card a interactive card, using the Art Impressions slider die.

To start with I stamped the image of the couple with the dog riding the tandem bicycle on to Neenah 80lb cardstock, using alcohol marker safe ink. The Copic markers I used are listed below. Then I fussy cut the image out. I left a wide white border this time.

After fussy cutting I started on the background. I used a Kindred Stamps Forest stencil for the trees. I used a combination of Distress ink in Pine Needles. How have I not used that color more!? And also Peeled Paint but in the Distress Oxide ink. I used a makeup blending brush to blend those colors over the stencils.

This card really did come together quite easily and fast, after the coloring. the slider die is die cut with black card stock. I used the long rectangle negative piece from the slider to heat emboss the sentiment "life with you is wonderful" with white embossing powder. I cut a piece of white card stock to fit in the slider and hole punched one side of it. I also used a corner rounder on the corners, that gives it more of a tag shape. I also tied a knot of baker's twine through the hole punch hole.

Before adding the slider to the card I cut a piece of the checkered pattern paper from the Heidi Swapp Wolf Pack paper pad. Then I added some strong dry adhesive to the back of the slider. Make sure you use a bone folder or something to flatten the creases. I attached the inside black cardstock piece with the white heat embossed sentiment inside. The couple on the bike has a foam adhesive circles on the back. It took a bit of playing with the slider mechanism and the stamp image to make sure that it would slide open enough to read the sentiment, but basically the foam circles work as a stopper to keep the slider from sliding all the way out.

For a final touch I added another sentiment from the set that says "Better together". I simply stamped it on to white card stock with black ink.
