Caffeinated Reindeer Shaker Tag with Bells!

Hey everyone!

Today I have my second share for The Rabbit Hole Designs using the Caffeinated Reindeer. If you missed out on my first post and video I will link it here. I've had a great time using this reindeer! For this project I decided to make a shaker tag! I'm always surprised by myself when I don't end up making a card. lol!

So this tag came about because I loved the sentiment that is in the set with the reindeer "Caffeine gives me the jingles all the way." and I've recently purchased an abundance of some little gold bells. I've caught myself just jingling them in their little clear bag.... Yes, I'm easily amused. So I thought it would be fun to make a tag. Now I did start out with a tag in mind but I also think this would make a cute ornament. I have ornaments on the brain now, with Christmas around the corner.

To get started I stamped the Caffeinated Reindeer on to a piece of Neenah Solar White 80lb cardstock and colored him with Copic Markers. Then I proceeded with the mundane (unless your me and don't mind it) task of fussy cutting. To make things slightly easier on myself I did leave a white border.

Copic Markers Used:
W6, W4, W3, W1, W0
R05, R02, YG67, YG03, G43, G40
E35, E43, R81

Now comes the more complicated part. The bells I'm using as my shaker filling are quite large. Well, larger then your average shaker bits; sequins, micro beads etc. Using a tag die I cut FIVE of those tag shapes from craft foam. This gives me just enough height to allow the bells to sit inside with out bowing the clear acetate. This is rather thick but still really easy to put together. I also used a circle die to die cut the center of each of those.

My layer order goes.....
1 Black card stock base layer tag (no circle cut)
5 Craft foam tags with circle die cut
1 Square of acetate just large enough to cover the center circle
1 Pretty pattern paper with a smaller hole die cut.

I then, die cut the pattern paper with a smaller circle die so that it gives me some allowance. I knew that not all of the circles would match perfectly, since I eyeballed die cutting those. I start with my base layer and glue everything together with a liquid adhesive, stopping before I add the acetate so that I can fill the circle with the gold jingle bells. Then topping with the acetate and pattern paper.

I also die cut another tag (same set as the larger tag) from a red and black plaid pattern paper. This is where I heat embossed my sentiment from the Caffeinated Reindeer with white embossing powder. After that I just had a couple of final touches to finish. I added a hole protector (another die) which is die cut from some silver glitter card stock. This is about when I thought I would use this as an ornament instead of a tag. So I took some black and white baker's twine and cut 6 strands of similar length and proceeded to braid them together. It was like making a friendship bracelet. Sadly my braiding skills are a little rusty but in the end it looks like a little braid. I tied this through the tag hole and made a loop. Then I added the bow... for that I took no chances and hot glued it in place.

Thank you so much for joining me today!
