Sending Cheer | Art Impressions Holiday Cards Challenge #269

Hello everyone! There is a new challenge on the Art Impressions blog, #269 Holiday Cards! With the upcoming season that is a pretty easy challenge to enter. Plus we are showing off some of the NEW holiday stamp sets. I used the "oh so very cute" Penguin Cheer. This one just makes you smile for sure! Lots of adorable penguins!

I used this set previously on another card. The video for that is below.

For this card design though I kept it simple and created a little scene by stamping the igloo, the cheerful penguin and some of the smaller ornament stamps and lights to fill in my scene. Penguins and snow are so easy and quick to color! Grab your favorite gray combination of markers or pencils for the penguin and some light blue/ gray for the snow and igloo and your basically done coloring!

I kept the coloring really simple and decided to go with just red lights. I love seeing those houses decorated in all red or all white lights for the holidays. I like the colorful ones too but for some reason I'm always drawn to those more simple color schemes for lights. We usually do a mix of red and white on our house! Like a candy cane, which also another favorite of mine.😀

I used the largest Art Impressions Oval stitch die to die cut my colored scene and also a piece of pattern paper from the Jen Hadfield Warm & Cozy paper pad. I adhered some bright red card stock to a A2 sized card base and layered on my die cut ovals. I also heat embossed one of the sentiments from the Penguin Cheer set on to black cardstock with white embossing powder. The sentiment is also die cut from the smallest rectangle die in the Art Impressions Rectangle double stitch die set.
