Texture Paste and Neon Aqua Pigments | Brutus Monroe Blog Hop

Hey guys! Today I'm participating in the Brutus Monroe Inspiration Team Blog Hop. The hop order is down below so don't forget to check everyone's beautiful creations! I've had a fabulous time guest designing for them this month, Thank you. I wanted to share one last design with you, before my guest design month is up.

All products used will be listed below. This was a result of a experimentation with Neon Aqua Pigments (I just can't get enough!!) and Texture Paste. I started off mixing together the Neon Blue, Yellow, Red and Green Aqua Pigments with the paste, until I had a nice bright color. I took a mixed media paint brush and scooped up the tinted Texture Paste. Then applied that to a piece of black cardstock, applying one swipe like you would with regular paint. This created those colorful stripes! Super easy! But man, what a great neon texture. I would like all of the neon products lol!

It took a couple of hours for this to be dry, but I let it sit overnight before running the neon texture panel through my die cutting machine with a rounded rectangle die. I've ruined a die before, by doing something similar but being very impatient. Paste is hard to clean off of stitch dies, small crevices. This was fully dried so I had no issues.

I adhered a light gray card stock to a top fold Neenah solar white 110lb card base, then I centered the neon texture paste panel on top. For the sentiments I used a few from the Super Sentimental set. I loved these fonts together, so I stamped them on to a scrap piece of Neenah solar white  card stock with Versafine Clair Nocturne ink. These stamps have amazing details! I added some dimension with white craft foam behind each sentiment before adhering them between the neon paste stripes. I used the Ultra Bond Adhesive from Thermoweb, with the craft foam, still a favorite combination of mine.

The part that took the longest was adhering all those sequins down. I used a little extra Multi Medium Matte glue then I normally would when applying sequins, but the paste is texture paste and I didn't want those sequins popping off the front of my card! Using tweezers and a poke tool really help make this task easier. All the sequins are from Doodlebug and come in a variety pack of 12 colors. I chose the colors that were the closest to the Neon Pigments. Don't neon sequins sound fun!? lol. Oh and if you are OCD like me, yes there is 18 sequins per stripe... 😄🤷‍♀️

That's it from me! Thank you so much for joining me today. I really appreciate it. I have scheduled for next week, the video on experimenting with Neon Aqua Pigments and texture paste (other mediums too). So I hope you keep an eye out for that!

Don't forget to follow along on this fun Blog hop with the Brutus Monroe Inspiration Team. Thank you for having me this month!
