I dig you | Art Impressions Challenge #260 Birthday Cards

Hello everyone! I hope you all are enjoying the Art Impressions Design Team inspiration for Challenge #260. This time we are making birthday cards! You can never have too many birthday themed cards in my opinion.

For this card I decided to mix the Succulent set with a few of the sentiments and small images from the Gotta Garden set. The most time consuming part to make this card was the stamping and heat embossing. I took 5 sheets (4.5x6 inch) of Canson Watercolor paper and stamped 6 of the larger succulents with Distress Oxide ink, then heat embossed with clear embossing powder.

I got out the Glass Media Mat, and even more Distress Oxide inks, so that I could watercolor them. Similar to the way I did it in this video here. I have a list of the Distress Oxide inks I used to stamp, then to watercolor with, below. I mixed a lot of the oxide inks together while painting them.

While the Succulents dried, I heat embossed the sentiment and smaller images from the Art Impressions Gotta Garden set. These work so well together! I did this on a piece of Neenah Dessert Storm cardstock using Versafine Clair Nocturne ink and clear embossing powder. I also colored the gloves and gardening tools in with a white Sakura Gelly Roll pen.

By the time I was done with that, the succulents were dry and I used the coordinating dies from the Succulent set to die cut them all. Then, I trimmed the dessert storm cardstock with the second to largest Art Impressions Rectangle stitch die. The fun part of placing all those succulents around the sentiments! I used Therm-o-web's Ultra Bond to adhere them all, leaving a few for the inside.
I trimmed a piece of wood grain pattern paper from the American Crafts pebbles Americana and adhered that to a card base. then layered the glued succulents over that. A few overlapped past the card size, I just trimmed those with scissors. For a final touch I added a little white heart die cut.
