Cupcake Shaker Card | Art Impressions Challenge #259

Hey Everyone!
Today we are sharing shaker cards on the Art Impressions blog for Challenge #259! Shaker cards are so fun to make and I thought I would make one based around the Art Impressions Whisk It set, because these cupcakes are just looking soooo delicious!

One of the first things to think about when making a shaker card is what you will use for to raise your panel up. For this one I decided to use some craft foam in coordinating colors. I cut the square frames by pairing together the largest and 3rd largest square dies together from the Art Impressions Square Double Stitch die set, using some purple tape to keep the dies together between cuttings. I did this for all the craft foam layers (blue, pink and green) and also for the top layer of Simon Says Stamp Fog cardstock.

To keep the shaker bits inside I took a piece of Papertrey Ink clear cardstock and die cut it using the second second largest square die. that way it sandwiches between the green craft foam and the fog cardstock layer. I did use the Thermoweb Ultra Bond glue for all the craft foam and cardstock layers.

I stamped the smaller images on a piece of Neenah Solar White 80lb cardstock with Gina K. Amalgam ink. You might have seen a preview of these on Instagram for the #thedailymarker30day challenge. I colored the images with Copic markers and then fussy cut them out leaving a white border. I also stamped the sentiment and die cut it with a smaller square die.

Before I added all the sweet stamped images, I placed the shaker bits inside the square craft foam frame. There can be quite a bit of static around the shaker bits so I also used the EK Success Anti Static tool. This one smells like baby powder, which isn't my favorite scent that is why I use a different one for all my other anti static needs. But this one has a brush on the end and I think it works really well for shaker cards.

Once my square shaker was filled, I adhered it to a card base. Which is just a standard A2 sized card base I trimmed down to 4 1/4 x 4 1/4. Than I attached all the fun colorful stamped images.

I love this Whisk it set. If you are looking for more inspiration in using it check this out.
