Hey everyone!
The last 12 days before Christmas are upon us so I thought I would make a more simple card using the Simon Says Stamp December Card Kit, Christmas Cheer.
For this one I was inspired by Crystal's card on the inspiration sheet that we all received with our kits. I linked to her channel in the description on my video.
Watch the video here.
So it all started with the smooshing technique of a couple Distress Oxide inks. This is such a fun technique and using it with Oxides is great because it allows you to layer color very well. Since these inks have pigment ink in.
Next I colored the cute little tree from the Simon Says Stamp Christmas Cheer stamp set. I used copics for this.
Green-
YG67, G14, YG03
Yellow
Y26, Y15, Y02
Brown-
E59, E35, E18
Gray-
W3, W1
Once the tree was done I used gold embossing powder on the center of the star and the light strings using a Versamark pen to draw over those lines. Then heat set it. For the sentiment I stamped them on some Neenah cardstock then hand cut them into rectangle and attached them to a scrap piece of Audrey Blue cardstock. I then used my scissors again and left just a hint of the blue around each sentiment rectangle.
I thought this card needed some more blue so I stamped a couple of the fantastic snowflake stamps from the Christmas Cheer stamp set with Distress Oxide Peacock Feathers. It overlapped the red and yellow of the smooshed background well.
Then I added some Nuvo Drops to create color on the lights of the trees.
This card has been entered into the following challenges.
