Hello everyone! For today's card I wanted to show some ways to add texture to a card. Pretty soon it's going to be Christmas card making time so I want to get these last few Fall card ideas out of my head! I used a variety of cork pattern paper and some felt to add my texture. Take a look down below!
First thing I had to do was figure out what texture I was going to use. I'm kind of limited on felt colors so that is why I went with the Pattern Cork. This pack of cork I found at Hobby Lobby. Unfortunately I'm not sure if they carry it anymore. I used the 3 sizes of pumpkin dies, in the Pick of the Patch die set, to die cut the cork. I cut out a total of 5. Then used Simon Says Stamp's Olive cardstock and the same dies to cut the same amount of dies. Again unfortunately (Sorry!) I don't think Simon carries this color of cardstock anymore, I could not find it on the website.
Then I used the Papertrey Ink Felt (Simply Chartreuse) and their hillside border die to cut the green for the mid ground. I used the same color to die cut vines for the pumpkins which I didn't end up using. After I had all my pieces cut I stamped the two squirrels from the Pick of the Patch stamp set. For that I used the Travel Stamp Platform and Gina K. Designs Amalgam Ink. This is a really nice black ink that I find works great on "fresh" stamps, but I used 3 black inks all the time and so far haven't decided on a favorite. 😁
The colors that I used for the squirrels are:

W1, W3, W6, w9, R81
After using the coordinating dies to cut those cute little squirrels out I started on the background. I'm going to just use my Copic markers to do this. But first I cut a circle out of a piece of "once" used marking paper from Inkadinkado. Then trim down a piece of Neenah 80lb Solar White with a stitched rectangle die and place the mask over top. For the sky I used mainly blues and purples and the giant sun in the middle is a couple different colors of yellow.

I also die cut the Falalala sentiment from a Lawn Fawn die and black cardstock and some clouds for the top of my scene with another lawn fawn die and Neenah cardstock. Nothing left to do now but to start building my scene. I layered the rectangle layers together first then added the copic colored background, this was done with ATG adhesive. For the felt, cork pumpkins and squirrels I used liquid glue and my tweezers to help.
