Hey everyone! I'm back again with another Halloween card. I really like the style of Simon's Bwahaha stamp and die sets so I recently purchased these. I have a lot of ideas for this one so you might see it a few times before the early fall season is over with.
Watch the video here.
So first I stamped the spooky house in SSS clear ink so that I could emboss it with Ranger's Black Sparkle embossing powder. I love sparkly embossing powder it definitely gives a wow factor. I also stamped the Happy Hallween phrase before die cutting these out.
Using a piece of Tim Holtz watercolor paper I painted a purple background using the 36 pan of Kuretake Gansai Tambi watercolors. I did this in layers and added some black to deepen the purple watercolor on the last layer just a bit more.
After heat setting the watercolor I ran it through my Big Shot with a stitched rectangle die that cut it out down then added white splatter with Copic Opaque white. To make the window align with 2 layers I die cut the watercolor piece with a circle die that also came with the Bwahaha stamp set, centered that on to a blank card base and traced the circle on the front with a pencil and used the die to cut that out using the pencil mark as a guide.
Final step on that is to add adhesive to the watercolor piece and align the circles for the window. Then I stamped the circle/moon through the window on to the inside of the card with a Travel Stamp platform and added the inside sentiment and a few bats.
I used copics (colors used listed below) to color in the Happy Halloween word outline stamp, coloring it with a slight orange gradient. Then die cutting it blank 3 more times so that I could run them through my small Xyron sticker maker and quickly stack them together leaving the base die cut stuck on the backing paper and adding the colored image last with liquid adhesive. Using the same liquid adhesive I attached the spooky house to the front of the card and added the Happy Halloween right below it.
Because I always decided last minute to change maybe just one tiny thing I take a darker yellow to the windows of the spooky house. Which I think looks a little better then with my previous decision.
