To make this card I used some new Concord & 9th dies from their April release. The light gray was cut using the Pinking and confetti die. Then I use the Pinking die to cut out a piece of bright red cardstock too, so that I could back it behind the light gray. The red really shows through the confetti cuts nicely!
For the little cake I stamped it with Copic marker safe black ink and then colored it in with shades of yellow and grays. The Iconic stamp set comes with some great face stamps that you can use and they fit perfectly; turning the your stamps into emojis. I stamped the heart eye face using the same black ink and then found a tiny heart die in my stash so that I could cut out red hearts and layer that over the top of the stamping.
I could have stamped the mouth in black and the heart eyes in red by masking or cutting the stamp apart but I like using a die was easier and I was happy to find one that was just about the same size!
I then cut out the cake with a circle die and popped it up using white fun foam. For the sentiment I stamped it with Versamark ink onto a piece of medium dark gray cardstock. Then heat embossed it with white embossing powder. I used scissors to trim it up and then popped it up with fun foam also.
I added some sparkle to the candles, sprinkles, eyes and some of the confetti using two different glitter pens. Then a coating of Glossy Accents over the candles, frosting, face and platter underneath the cake.
I left the inside pretty blank but using a light gray ink I stamped the same cake image as the front on to the inside of the card but used a different face this time. I can add a sentiment later that will coordinate with the recipient.
