I used one of the Concord and 9th Everyday Tintables that I showed in a recent haul video. I'll link that here if you are interested. My First Haul Video
I shortened the Tintable by about 2 inches enough to allow the Hippo image to show on the below layer. I squished 3 colors of Distress Ink on to the white silicone sheet that comes with the Tim Holtz Glass Media Mat. I used the Distress Sprayer to weight the ink so that the colors move. I started to dip the Tintable into the distress ink. If I wanted more of one color I just wiped the silicone mat clean and squished the ink pad I wanted to use, basically repeat the first steps over and over. I like how the colors combined and created hints of purple, orange and green shades.
The hippo stamp is from Brutus Monroe which is part of the Monthly Stamp Club. Though I'm no longer subscribed to that. I found that I wasn't using the stamps often enough right now. I love the ones I have received and the company is fantastic. I think the stamp club is a fun idea and maybe I will join again one day when the time is right.
Then I stamped the hippo on a piece of Neenah solar white cardstock. I used the MFT extreme black ink again. So far I like that ink! I used Copic markers to color in the hippo and create the grass too. The B16, B14 and B12 are a great match for the Distress Ink Salty Ocean. I wonder if someone has done a chart featuring the best Copic colors that match Distress Inks?
For the grass I flicked a few shades of green against the bottom edge of the cardstock. Then I used the Concord and 9th Confetti Card die to create the pinking edge on both pieces. To finish I layered the Tintable over the cardstock with the hippo and matched up the pinking edge and adhered together. All that was left to do was attach that to a light gray cardstock and adhere to a card base. Easy!
The inside I stamped the hippo again but let it as just an outline image and then stamped the "I miss you" in a blue Gina K. Designs ink.
