I wanted to show how to make a girl birthday card and a boy birthday card using the same supplies. The first one has a bit softer colors with a nice coral pink but honestly either card could be used for either gender. I stamped it using Intense Black ink on to Neenah cardstock and colored the main images and some of the words in with Copic Sketch Markers. I have a list of the markers I used down below. Then used a darker and lighter gray to color in the rest of the word and numbers. I kept the darker gray to the outer edge to act as a frame.
After that I added shimmer to each picture (balloons, presents, banner, etc) and covered that with Glossy Accents. I like to add glossy accents over top of the shimmer so that the sparkles stay in place. I have yet to find a shimmer pen that stays put.
For the boyish card I cut a circle out of masking paper with my die cutting machine and a circle die. I placed it on the cardstock and stamped the Birthday Block stamp in a medium gray color. I used Copic Marker colors in oranges and blues and kept those colors to the inside of the card. Then use a Warm gray Copic to color the outside frame of words like I did in the first one. I used a stamp from Waffle Flower's "Hey Girl" for the sentiment in the circle. that stamp was already cut apart from a previous project so I was able to stamp the words in a blue ink and the candle in black. Then I colored the candle in with a few of the same Copic markers used before.
I outlined the images in a black micron and used a shimmer pen on the candle in the middle and covered both that and the words in glossy accents.
