Copic colored card | Waffle Flower Birthday Enveloper stamp

Today got away from me, so this post is going up a bit late. I'm trying to stay on the schedule of posting every Monday, Wendesday and Friday with an included video for every Friday post. Also If you didn't know, this blog is now located at JessicaMayDay.com. I wanted everything to be more stream line. So now, this blog, my youtube channel and Instagram are all Jessica MayDay (instagram Jessica_MayDay)

FYI: I list to all products used down blow.

This stamp is from Waffle Flower and is called the "Enveloper Birthday". I first stamped the 2 images using a stamp platform because the images had so many solid parts. I wanted to get a solid impression.

I have a list of all the Copic colors that I used for the coloring down below. I knew I wanted a ombre background of blues and I had already decided that I was going to put a large red heart on the top middle portion even before I was finished stamping.

The heart took a couple of steps. First I die cut the larger heart from my stamped image panel. Then I took a scrap piece of Neenah cardstock that I was testing color combinations on and die cut, then colored the heart in red shades of Copics. Finally the 3rd heart and the smallest was die cut using vellum. I used my Xyron to adhere it to the red heart and then embossed the layered red and vellum hearts with clear embossing powder. I did 3 layers so it is very glossy, kind of like an epoxy embellishment.

I added the white gel pen highlights and colored in some of the solid black flowers to give more contrast. I also used a Gelly roll glaze pen in black and outlined most of the images and used it to darken the eyes and hair/ fur.

Have you used embossing powder to change up your die cuts like up above? I love my Signo White gel pen but are there any others that maybe you favor that I should know about? Let me know in the comments!
