The colors for this one were light purple, dark purple, brown and off white/ beige. Though my lighter purple turned more pinkish (especially on camera) then I wanted I think my idea came through for this card.

Make your own background.
My idea was to use all the colors for the background and leave the flowers in the neutral tones. I'm not trying to reinvent the wheel but I thought it would be a nice stylized choice that would be visually interesting.
I used plain old distress inks for the back ground on Bristol smooth paper. There is quite a difference between using Distress Inks and Distress Oxide inks. I used a sprayer to make the droplets and create the texture that Distress Inks are so well known for. Then I used die the Wonky Rectangle die from MFT to die cut the panel. The flowers are all stamped with Gina K Inks and the sentiment is heat embossed in gold embossing powder.
All the other stamps and dies are from Papertrey Ink. Using my older supplies and finding inspiration there is very enjoyable. Makes you think "oh yeah that's why I bought that" = ) I used this die and stamp set once I believe, but I had troubles aligning the dies to the stamp images and couldn't get a centered cut. Of course I've had more practice since then and the aligning was never the products fault but my own, newbie mistakes. Practice makes perfect right? Well at least practice makes you a little better.
I've linked to all the products used if you are curious about an item or color. Just click on your preferred shopping site and purchase like normal. I only receive a VERY small portion of the sale and I mean small, but everything helps. (Papertrey Ink links are not affiliated, I link because their products are very good quality and I enjoy them)
