This was the stamp that I received for November. Now I'll be honest, all the stamp images are pretty small and not something I would normally pick out for myself. But there lies the challenge; Get myself out of my comfort zone and see what happens.
I'm a little obsessed with teal and red color combinations. You should see my house!
To make the ornaments a sold embossed gold I started off with embossing 3 of the ornament images in gold and then using a VersaMarker pen to fill in 2 of the ornament shapes. You could also use some tweezers and rub the image over the full sized or cubed VersaMark ink pad.
I fussy cut the ornaments out and stamped the ornament image one more time in Versafine Onyx Black and fussy cut out the Merry Christmas banner image.
The border with the small images was stamped in Simon Says Stamp Intense Black Ink. I colored the candy cane and present images in with Prismacolor Premier Pencils and used Nuvo Crystal drops in white to fill in the small round ornaments.
To make the shaker element I used Simon Says Stamp Stitched rectangles to create the border and foam tape. The background is Neenah solar white cardstock in 80lb blended with Distress Oxide Ink Cracked Pistachio. It's a nice velvety texture that I think goes nicely with all the shine of the gold embossing powder.
To get the fun embossed gold edge just swipe all four sides of your cardstock through a VersaMark ink pad and add the embossing powder. It is a simple technique with huge amount of impact.
