I first stamped the image of the truck and masked part of the bed for the presents to sit in and then stamped the presents. Then on a some scrap card stock I cut out a mask for each image. Using some removable adhesive I adhered the masks to the stamped images and started to blend a back ground using several colors of Distress Oxide inks on a piece of Neenah Solar white card stock. I sprayed some drips of water to get that oxide technique and used a white Gelly Roll pen to draw in some white dots.
I removed the mask and touched up any white spots around the images with a small paint brush and the coordinating Distress Oxide inks for the areas.
To color the images I used my Prismacolor Pencils which I was a little concerned about using on the Neenah card stock since it is such a smooth paper and does not have much tooth for the pigment of the Prismacolor pencils to gather in. It worked fine, though I was only able to layer 3 times. The first color let down was very light the second was for shadows then the last was to blend. I would consider using again for such a simple image.
After all that I just had to cut out the image with a stitched rectangle die and adhere it and the border to a card base. As a final touch I added the sentiment in the right hand top corner with white embossing powder to help make it really stand out.
That's it! First card down.... =)
