Welcome back! Today's post is featuring Tim Holtz Crazy Bird Stamp set again. Now I don't have the dies for these birds. I wish I did, it would make getting that dimension effect much easier. I'm not someone who enjoys the task of "fussy cutting". Luckily these birds have a pretty basic shape to them.
I stamped both birds on the Neenah Solar white 80lb cardstock and then stamped them again on another piece of cardstock. The wings on the red bird were cut out along with just the body of the round green bird. I used foam adhesive to pop up the wings. The body portion of the other bird is just glued right on to the cardstock panel. It gives him just enough dimension but the red bird with the French fry is the main focus.
Did you guess it was a French fry he was holding? I don't have a fry stamp or die but I cut out a piece of white cardstock, rounded the edges and used a bone folder to emboss the stripes. It's a crinkle cut French fry, that's what I was going for anyways! I just used a few copies to color the fry a nice orange/yellow color.
I did mask off the birds so I could blend some peeled paint Distress ink on the bottom portion as a grassy area. The gray background is just some simple coloring with a gray Copic Marker using the chisel end to get a streaky feel.
Supplies
Actual Copic colors used. Copics listed below is a set with great colors but not exact.
